Lesson Plan: Military Involvement
Prior to this lesson, students have participated in the lesson that is attributed to economic pressures that the United States may enact on other countries to achieve its goals abroad. In this lesson, students will participate in a QFT in order to learn about open and closed questions. This is an inquiry based lesson. The goal of this lesson is for students to be able to come up and generate their own compelling questions to which they will be able to use for a future assessment. Students will partake in the QFT protocol. After doing so, students in groups will rank the associated military involvement that the United States may enact on other countries: intelligence sharing, advisory role, selling military weapons, giving military weapons, joint training exercises, tactical support, air support, limited Military involvement, and full-scale Military involvement. Students will rank these nine options from most to least aggressive. After ranking the nine options, students will generate responses to wear each of the nine options are being enacted by the United States in its history or in the present day.
